Welcome to my first post. I'll be keeping tabs on a wide range of sports and I’ll be regularly adding bits and pieces with a strong focus on Australian and US sports.
Good to see the Pittsburgh Penguins win their first Stanley Cup since 1992 after defeating the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 in game 7 today. An excellent comeback series win after the game 5 blowout and to take the decider in Detroit is a sensational result. Evengi Malkin was awarded the finals MVP and Sidney Crosby became the youngest captain to hoist the Stanley Cup.
After jumping out to an early lead thanks to two goals from Max Talbot, the Pens managed to survive a frantic final period in which Detroit scored and hit the crossbar. Marc Andre Fleury was exceptional in the final minutes.
Well that’s the first post in the books.
